Final of UK Big Brother TONIGHT!
August 24th 2010 11:48
So from 8pm on Channel 4 tonight, it is the final, of the last ever series of UK Big Brother. It is also the launch of 'Ultimate Big Brother', but personally, I'm not too fussed about that. The five remaining house mates are Josie, Andrew, JJ, Dave and Mario. The winner will scoop the £100,000 prize money, and take their place in the Ultimate Big Brother house.
The big question for me going into tonight, is can anyone really stop Josie from winning? Throughout the series, she has been the bookies favourite to win the majority of the time. There have been occasions when Corin, John James and Sam Pepper were ahead of her in the betting stakes, but due to their big personalties drawing them haters as well as lovers, all three were evicted in the semi-final. Josie on the other hand, is too nice to have any vote to evict her, and has barely picked up a nomination all series. So now it looks like Josie is left with a canter to victory, seemingly certain to win tonight.
The other four will have to battle it out for positions 2nd-5th. In my opinion, Dave is the only other big personality left in the house, which I predict will land him 2nd place. He was up for eviction almost every single week, and several times appeared to be on his way. What has emerged throughout the series though, is that the strange, opinionated monk that entered the house, is just a genuinely nice guy. Mario is likely to finish in the top 3 as well, which will delight him given he is the biggest Big Brother fan to ever go on the show. I thought after launch night he would win, as he had to enter as the house mole. Having to complete a secret task just to become a house mate, he has had an exciting eleven weeks inside the Big Brother compound.
The problem for Andrew and JJ, is that entering the house late, they were up against it straight away. No house mate has ever won Big Brother after entering part way through. Both of them are similar as well, in that there is no real reason to want to vote them out, hence why they are in the final, but also, no real reason to vote for them to win. I'm not sure who will finish ahead of who, but Andrew and JJ will be 4th and 5th.
Who ever comes out on top tonight, it has been an absolutely brilliant series. Partly down to some great house mates, namely Josie, Dave, Sam, John James, Corin and Ben. But also, the tasks in BB11 have been fantastic, better than any series ever. A giant robot went in and controlled the house, John James and JJ left and took part in a dress up horse race, all house mates had dinner in the sky, and the tree of temptation has added great entertainment, by setting secret missions. The house flood also helped the series's entertainment level.
The ignore the obvious task, however, was the best part of the show, and was pure genius. House mates had to ignore the obvious distractions sent into the house, including Davina Mccall on eviction night, the commentator of Big Brother joining them, strippers, marching bands, the entrance of Sam Pepper, and Dave and Steve's wives eating dinner in the garden. This task was some of the best TV I have seen.
But series 11 of UK Big Brother has to end tonight, with the final starting at 8, and due to the start of Ultimate Big Brother, going on for nearly three hours. Rumoured house mates for UBB include previous winners, Pete, Nadia, Brian, Craig, and former celebrity house mates Alex Reid, John Mccririck and Jackie Stallone. But with Josie set to win tonight, she will get to see boyfriend John James for minutes, maybe seconds, before re entering the house.
But with the end of this great show upon us tonight, at least it has finished with the most entertaining series I can remember. Josie will be a fitting final winner, unless one of the underdogs can steal her glory.
